Professional Standards Committee Vice Chair

Professional standards was one of my first areas of REALTOR® volunteer experience. As a law school graduate, high-producing practitioner, and multi-office broker-owner, my background made me well suited to professional standards work. I’ve served on, and chaired, numerous hearing panels throughout the diverse state of Illinois. Playing a part in the enforcement of the NAR Code of Ethics is truly a sacred trust. I’m both humbled and awestruck by the opportunity to serve as vice chair of NAR’s Professional Standards Committee, a group whose role is essentially to be the keepers of the Code.

I served as 2012 president of my local association and as the 2018 president of the 48,000-member Illinois REALTORS®. During my time in Illinois REALTORS® leadership, I have focused on increasing diversity and inclusion, as I represent an incredibly diverse state. To that end, I’m a dues paying (and involved) member of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, the Asian Real Estate Association of America, the National Association of Real Estate Brokers (and the local Dearborn REALTIST Board, which predates NAREB), and Women’s Council of REALTORS®. In 2004, I was named one of REALTOR® Magazine’s “30 Under 30.”

I’m an avid (okay, obsessive) photographer, and most folks recognize me at meetings and events by the gigantic Nikon camera that I’m always clutching. There’s always a story to be told, and I love using social media to tell the REALTOR® story in photos.

I’m married to a Filipino immigrant and am always inspired by immigrant success stories. We have two kids: Gabe (age 13) and Izzy (age 10). We’ve made four family trips to the Philippines in the last five years, and part of each trip has included service project with locals.
